The doctors at Eye Care of Iowa are committed to providing you with the most accurate and comprehensive eye care services available for you and your family.  This means that we will utilize the most updated technology and equipment during your examination.

During your comprehensive annual eye exam, we will evaluate your depth perception, color vision, pupil reactions, eye muscle balance, eye teaming skills, eye alignment, and visual acuity.

Our exams also include a full external and internal eye health assessment.  All of our doctors are licensed therapeutic optometrists, which means that we are able to treat and manage most ocular diseases including ocular allergies, glaucoma, dry eye, conjunctivitis (pink eye), and corneal abrasions.  In addition, we can serve as a referral center for surgery if needed for cataracts, LASIK, diabetic retinopathy, or strabismus.

After a thorough assessment of your visual system, we will determine what type of vision correction is best recommended for each individual patient.  We will take the time to discuss with you the options available for vision correction including glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, or laser vision correction.

Our opticians will help you with deciding what frames and lenses will work best for you and your specific vision requirements, including your occupation and hobbies.  They can discuss the various types of lenses available including transitions, high-index, polarized, tinted, anti-reflective, computer/office lenses, and progressive no-line bifocals.  We also offer prescription and non-prescription sunglasses, occupational safety glasses, and recreational/sports safety goggles.  Our opticians are always available to help you with any repairs or adjustments needed for your glasses.  In addition, we have an on-site optical laboratory available for your convenience.

As recommended by the American Optometric Association, we advise our patients to have a comprehensive eye exam every year to monitor for vision and eye health changes.  Of course if you are experiencing any eye pain, redness, or sudden vision changes, you should come in immediately for an eye health evaluation – usually same day appointments are available for these situations.  Our office also has an after-hours pager system for eye emergencies.
